My advice to Nigerians to Nigerians is that they should commit the crisis into the hands of God. Even if the government’s decision amount to MENTAL-CANIBALISM against the populace, the mind of God can right their thoughts. No one can be in power except God approves of him.  Ever since 1984 the removal of the so-called fuel subsidy has always brought about “MENTAL CANIBALISM” by government against the masses. I proffer the following solutions to the current petroleum politics and current price crisis.

That government endures to bear the problem and continue with the price of N65 per litre for the next six months or nine months.

During this period, the government should demystify petroleum oil sales.

It should permit, license and/or encourage local investors, especially from the oil producing regions to build cottage refineries or distilleries to produce petroleum products and sell to WHOM IT MAY PLEASE.

Such local investors should be given access to buy the crude oil from the NNPC at the same rate the product is sold to foreigners.

We should know Nigeria has too many unemployed petrochemical engineering graduates and technocrats who able to build and operate local refineries

Foreign investors should be invited to build refineries if they will sell petrol, diesel and kerosene at not more than N35 per litre. I bet the government that if such a call for tender is made today, well over 50 foreign and indigenous applications would be received.

If petroleum resources are natural blessing for Nigerian people and not for those in political power alone, government should give heed to these demands that emanate from the peasant’s stable.
