Some passengers returning home for the new year celebration with their loved ones at home may end up not reaching their villages.

This was as a result of traffic jams caused by the heavy trucks and other big Lorries that either broke down on the highway or fell down with goods.

This revelation was made by one of the passengers Mr Peter Amadi while speaking to our correspondent in Owerri, lmo State while returning home from Lagos to Aba but unfortunately spent his Christmas at Owerri before continuing his journey to Aba the next day.

Answering our reporter’s question he told our correspondent that not because he didn’t prepare the journey home well but unfortunately the obstacles of accident on the roads made him not reach home just as the saying goes, “man proposes God disposes,” he added.

“Am talking from experience that some people returning homes for the new year to join kiths and canes for the celebration of their new year will end up on the road because of unforeseen circumstances on our roads

Our correspondent who monitored the situation of people movement report that passengers that are travelling from either from Owerri to Lagos or Owerri to Abuja pay only #15,000 as against their counterparts returning homes to south east pay #58,000 while passengers that are travelling to Abuja from Owerri pay #14,000 against their counterparts returning home from Abuja that paid #55,000 to Owerri
