Nigeria’s Teni the Entertainer and Rema, Ghana’s Dope Nation were among leading African artists honoured at the 2020 SoundCityMVP award festival held in Lagos.
The event, which kicked off with a red carpet show around 10pm on Saturday night, ended with a sterling performance from Davido early Sunday at about 3:25am.
At the event, Teni won the Best Female MVP award for her “Billionaire” song; Dope Nation got Best Duo/Group award for “Toofan Ziguidi”; while Rema bagged Best New MVP Artist.
Similarly, Joeboy won the Best POP artiste award for his song “All for you”, just as DJ Spinall got the DJ of the Year award.
Kenyan rapper, Khaligraph Jones, also won the Best Hip-hop Artist of the Year award for his song “Leave me alone,” while Nigerian Jay Synth bagged the African Producer of the Year award for producing Teni’s “Case” music video.
