Spain reached the final of the men’s Olympic football competition with a 2-1 comeback victory over Morocco.

The 2020 silver medallists fell behind in the first half of the semi-final after tournament top scorer Soufiane Rahimi converted a penalty for his sixth goal at the Games.

Barcelona’s Fermin Lopez equalised midway through the second half in Marseille after pouncing on a loose ball in the penalty area.

Substitute Juanlu Sanchez then drilled home a winner five minutes from time to clinch his side’s place in Friday’s final in Paris.

They will play the winners of the second semi-final between France and Egypt.

Morocco will face the losers of that tie in the bronze medal match in Nantes on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has agreed to join Atletico Madrid.

The Blues had accepted a £33m offer from the Spanish side last week but there were significant concerns about whether the England international was interested in making the move.

But on Sunday night Gallagher, 24, told Atletico officials he is happy to make the switch.

The England international is now expected to fly and complete his medical and contract signing, which would end his 18-year spell at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea had offered a two-year deal with an option for an extra year, but it was deemed unfavourable by Gallagher due to both the length of the contract and the inferior squad role offered.
