Retail outfit, SPAR, has commissioned its ninth hypermarket store in Ilupeju area of Lagos State, even as it showered early customers with gift items and freebies.
At the market launch held at Ilupeju mall, SPAR Deputy Managing Director, Prakash Keswani, said that by the opening of a new outlet in the community, the company has succeeded in bringing quality and affordable items closer to more Nigerians.
According to Keswani, the launch of Ilupeju hypermarket store brought to nine, the total number of similar stores spread across Nigeria. He said the retail outlet has a greater commitment to reach out to its customers in any part of the country, a development which informed its expansion strategy.
In his remark, the company’s spokesperson, John Goldsmith, said that SPAR was more than ready to provide residents around the area with products ranging from grocery and household, bakery and butchery, fruit and vegetables, hot meals, fast moving consumer goods, consumer electronics, among other varieties.
“SPAR as a hypermarket brand, takes cognizance of the various kind of shopping missions and adapts its products and services in respect of choice, quality, service and value to translate the entire shopping experience into a world class one and we intend to take this format for all the upcoming stores across Nigeria,” Goldsmith said.
The SPAR spokesperson also said that the whole idea of spreading to different strategic communities in Lagos and elsewhere was to make purchase of consumer durables easy with SPAR Pay Easy Scheme.
He added that under the initiative, consumers can buy home appliances, laptops, mobile phones, home and office electronics and furniture and other items, with a choice of paying over a three, six, nine or twelve-month period.
