Speaker Dogara: Letter from forgotten constituents

While the nation marks 19 years today since the return of democracy, we from Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency, we are celebrating 11 years of your purposeful representation. We are at the same time celebrating you as the Hon. Speaker of the House of Representatives. Through your excellent leadership qualities in the House, you have proven to the entire country that you are a true political son of the late Sir. Abubakar Tafawa Balewa whose hometown you come from and represent. We pray you continue to make us proud at the national level sir.

More often than not, we hear and most times see some of your constituency projects and empowerment programs you provide to your constituents but none, Mr. Speaker sir, has so far reached Gwallarai village and its environs.

But unfortunately sir, as I speak, no youth big or small from Gwallarai, Sakani, Lili, Kudadu, Kahel, Fonde, Wuro Shell, Talbel, or other Fulani communities living in the western frontiers of Bununu that I know, got those life changing privileges from your good office.

The above mentioned communities have also been left out in terms of the provision of basic social amenities such as good source of water for both human and animal consumption.

We find it very difficult to transport our farm produce to either Tafawa Balewa, Bununu or to Zwall. The only feeder road we have that passes through Tatchar-Jokwal-Durum to railway crossing along Tafawa Balewa-Gital-Bununu road, is accessible only during the dry season as erosion has already damaged the road. The construction of just two to three culverts on the road will make the road alive once again and the communities would be reconnected to other parts of your constituency.

Our humble prayer is that, may those dubious gatekeepers who enjoy standing on our way to your favours never succeed this time around. May you continue to have the courage and wisdom to serve your people well.  Thank you sir.
