The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries (PS) deployed to the Special Duties Office (SDO), Office of the Secretary to the Government or the Federation (OSGF), Engr. Festus Yusuf Daudu, has pledged to deploy ‘team-work’ to achieve the mandates of his office.

Mr. Daudu from Nasarawa State, who took over Wednesday in Abuja, from Mr. William Nwankwo Alo, said is it important for staffers in the SDO to work as a family.

“I will study the mandates of this office. My style of administration is team-work and working as a family. Kindly extend the same cooperation you gave the outgoing permanent secretary to me. I assure you that all necessary tools required for your duties will be provided,” Daudu said.

Speaking earlier, Mr Alo who was redeployed to the Ministry of Labour and Employment, said workers should see service as a kind of relay race and should be prepared to move around.

According to him, while there were some staffs that were supportive, there were also some that were not.

He therefore urged all the staffers to cooperate with the new permanent secretary to move the office forward and achieve its mandates.

He listed some of the mandates of the SDO to include monitoring the Federal Executive Council (FEC) approved projects and programmes; monitoring the implantation of the constituency projects, which he said brought the office to lime light; administering the national honours and national merit awards as well as handling the Presidential Amnesty Committee on the prerogative of mercy among others.
