Special prayers held for Ado Bayero’s golden jubilee

The prayer session which was observed amidst tight security had in attendance Kano State Governor, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III and Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-Kanemi and other notable traditional rulers in the country.
In a brief speech, Alhaji Bayero expressed gratitude to Allah for sparing his life to witness the historic occasion and thanked the dignitaries who gathered to celebrate with him.
During the prayer session, Chief Imam of Fagge Jumu’at Mosque, Sheikh Muhammad Nasir Muhammad who led the entreaties, prayed to Allah to   restore   peace in the state and country at large and also prays for peaceful celebrations.
Immediately after the prayer session, a book titled ‘Kifayatu Dhu’afa Al Sudan’ (Satisfaction of the Inchoate people of Sudan), an explanation of the exegesis of the Qur’an written by Sheikh Abdullahi Bin Fodio and translated into English by Sani Musa Ayagi of Bayero University, Kano was launched at the chamber of the Emir Palace.
About N100million was gathered at the launch. Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar who served as the chief launcher, bought copies of the book at N25 million while the Kano State government bought copies of the book to be distributed to the libraries in the state at  N10million.
 At the palace, courtiers and workers were seen preparation for today’s Durbar.
