Spider-Man stars Zendaya and Tom Holland laugh off rumours they’re dating

Zendaya and Spider-Man: Homecoming co-star Tom Holland have laughed off rumours they’re an item.

A number of US news outlets had claimed the actor, 21, and actress, 20, are dating after meeting on the set of the critically acclaimed Marvel reboot, but had so far kept their romance under wraps.

They also claimed the pair had enjoyed a string of holidays together. However, on Thursday the former Disney star appeared to shut down the rumours on Twitter.

Replying to a tweet about them dating, she said: “Wait wait… my favourite is when it says we go on vacations together HA! I haven’t been on a vacation in years! How about you @TomHolland1996?”

Tom, who split from his long-term girlfriend Elle Lotherington last year, joked back: “Does the press tour count?”

To which Zendaya, who starred in Disney sitcom Shake It Up, simply said, “I’m done,” along with a crying with laughter emoji.

If the rumours did turn out to be true (they didn’t deny it, after all), it wouldn’t be the first time Spider-Man co-stars have fallen for one another.

Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst ended up falling for each other, as did Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone.

It’s also not the first time dating rumours between the pair have surfaced – back in April the Sunday Mirror reported that Tom had moved into Zendaya’s Los Angeles home.

Meanwhile, the pair have now moved onto other projects, with Tom, who starred in acclaimed TV series Wolf Hall and as Spidey in Captain America: Civil War, is once more in the stretchy suit, to film Avengers: Infinity War.

While Zendaya is now in the popular US TV series K.C. Undercover.
