The security operatives who stormed the venue of the planned inauguration at about 3:50 pm, 10 minutes before the take off of the event, combed all corners of the Centre as they searched for Jarret Tenebe, who was to be inaugurated for the day as the Interim Chairman.

The security men, numbering about four, came in a metallic-coloured jeep, demanding to see Jarret Tenebe, whom they said “our boss wants to see him”.

The development, apparently forced the abrupt cancellation of the ceremony as none of the NFA members showed up for the inauguration.

Facilitator of the group Mr. Harrison Jalla who had earlier arrived the venue, hurriedly left before the arrival of the security operatives.

Media representatives, numbering more than 30 who thronged the venue for the ceremony left at 4:45 after waiting endlessly for the eight members of the interim board, comprising of four ex-internationals and four others failed to show up.

In a telephone interview with Fever Pitch after the incident, a member of the group Alhaji Ahmed Shuaibu Gara Gombe said the group had an enlightened and useful meeting with the FCT Director of SSS, who appreciated and understood their position.

Gombe, who stated that members of the group were not harassed during the meeting with the SSS, informed that an agreement was reached that government will take a definite and appropriate position on the matter on Monday; adding that their position still remains that the NFF is an illegal body and should have no be dealing with football matters in the country.
