Stakeholders in the education sector have called on government to encourage authorship of more books that address issues of leadership and entrepreneurship among the youths.
They made the call in Lagos at the launch of the book, ‘Leadership and Entrepreneurship Series I’ (LESs), authored by Dipo Ojedeji and Ronke Ashiru.
The Chairman of the event, Asiwaju Tobi Lawal said in an introductory address that Nigeria deserves more books that address issues of leadership and entrepreneurship as both are critical to the country’s growth and development. He said when children from their school days are made to read hands-on and practical based literatures, they will grow to impact the larger society with the right set-skills.
“LESs as written by the two authors has shown the way for others to tap into because what the country needs at a time like this are literatures that encourage learning and practices that are beneficial to the country. A book like LESs deserves to be in every schools and we must make efforts to make it available to as many youths as possible,” Lawal said.
An education consultant and book reviewer, Busola Adegbajuwo said Nigeria is in need of more practical-oriented books that address fundamentals for youths to gain experiences required in leadership and entrepreneurship.
