Star Rolling FC Daura and Galaxy FC Mani have qualified for semi-finals of the 2021 Daura Senatorial Zone President Muhammadu Buhari (PMB) Cup for ‘The Next Level’.

In the first quarter-final match played on Monday at the Daura Township stadium, Star Rolling FC laboured to 4-3 victory over hard fighting Shargalle Reformers of Dutsi.

Although Shargalle Reformers took the lead through Bashir Rooney, Star Rollings’ striker, Magaji, drew his side level. Kewoo then put Star Rolling  in front before Magaji grabbed his brace to end the first half 3-1.

On resumption, the Reformers fought back to reduce the deficit through Bashir Rooney who scored his second goal of the match. Mohammed Lawan then scored the third goal to make it 3-3 before Zahara snatched victory for Star Rolling with the fourth goal.

Meanwhile, the first half of the second quarter-final match played yesterday between Ingawa United FC and Galaxy FC Mani ended goalless.

However, in the second half, Inagawa United opened scoring through Zibaru Sani but the lead was short-lived as Ismaila Haruna equalised for Galaxy almost immediately.

Ismaila Haruna then grabbed his brace to send Galaxy FC Mani into the semi-finals of the youth tournament which is an annual competition for amateur clubs in the 12 local governments under Daura Senatorial zone.

After today’s break, action will resume on Thursday with the third quarter-final match between FC Porto Zango and Tudun Wada United FC.

The final quarter-final match between Kusugu Rangers and New United will be held on Friday at Daura Township stadium.
