The six drama series, which have already started running on StarTimes’ digital television platform, will last for six months.
Speaking at the official unveiling in Abuja, the commissioner of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Press, Publication, Film & Television, Mr. Li Chungliang, said the central theme running through the series was how Chinese youth were adapting to modernity and their aspirations.
“With different skin colours, we share the same youth; with diversified culture, we share the same dream; with different languages, we share the same idea on love; with varied life, we share the same emotions in life,” Chunliang said.
The TV dramas are ‘We Got Married,’ ‘Struggle,’ ‘Who is in charge of My Youth,’ ‘Beijing’s Youth,’ ‘The Battle to save Marriage,’ and ‘The True Face of Justice.’
In his remarks, the Nigeria chief executive officer of StarTimes, Mr. Joseph Wang, said the company has been awarded the first digital broadcasting license ahead of the 2015 migration from analogue to digital broadcasting in the country.
He said a pilot migration was now running in Plateau State which will be replicated in other states soon.
