The Mai Kanuribe of Lagos, Alhaji Mustapha Mohammed, has expressed concern on the state of insecurity in the country.
Mohammed, in a statement he issued yesterday, said that it was a fact that the security situation in some parts of the country was highly disturbing.
He wondered how despite the presence of Commissioners of Police in the 36 states of the federation and their respective Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers, the crime rate was skyrocketing.
The Mai Kanuribe said, “There are also Brigade Commanders and Commanding Officers, as well as Directors of the State Security Service, yet criminals are having a field day.”
He then raised posers, “What then is the cause of the uprising in security breach in almost all parts of the country? Is it that these security outfits are not up and doing, or that criminals and their cohorts have outplayed security chiefs?”
