The Sokoto state University has matriculated 1,367 students for the 2016/2017 Academic session with a charge on them to be motivated by high ideals.

Speaking at the 4th Matriculation and Oath- taking ceremony of the new students, the Vice Chancellor Professor Nuhu Yaqub, said 1,480 were admitted out of over 13,000 candidates.

Yaqub said, “It is our intention to continue to build on our students’ strength as this is going to indicate to us as well as the world that we are a dynamic institution growing in aspiration with the community in which it is set up.”

The visitor to the university, Governor Aminu Tambuwal assured that the state government would continue to make the campus safe and secure for effective teaching and learning.
