The Gombe State Government says it will establish a Faculty of Law at the Gombe State University within the next 12 months.

Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo stated this when he received the executives of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) who paid him a courtesy visit. 

Dankwambo said preparations were on with the relevant authorities for the establishment of the faculty before the end of his tenure in May 2019.

Earlier, the Chairperson of FIDA in Gombe State, Barrister Sa’adatu Ishaya, said they visited the governor as part of activities to mark the FIDA week.

She urged the domestication of the Child Rights Act to protect children from abuse.
