COVID-19

The Federal Government has hinted that the fight against COVID-19 will now be left in the hands of respective state governments.

This implies that state governors must rise to the occasion without further delay. Most of the states are yet to have their own testing centres for COVID-19.

Such states will need to urgently procure testing facilities and train health workers that will manage cases at the centres.

I also call on the federal government not to withdraw from the fight totally. It should continue to offer the needed support and ensure monitoring what is going on in the states so as not to make a mockery of all the efforts made in the fight thus far.
