The leadership of Ethnic Youth Leaders Council of Nigeria has warned a group called Nigeria Ethnic Nationality Youth Leaders Council Worldwide to stay away from the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari or face its wrath.

The Ethnic Youth Leaders Council comprised Arewa Consultative Youth Movement, Ohanaeze Youth Consultative Movement, Oduduwa Youth Movement, Middle Belt Youth Forum and South South Consultative Youth Movement.

The council made their feelings known while reacting to the NENYLCW press statement signed by one Mazi Okwu Nnabuike who claimed to be the Publicity Secretary of the group, calling for the resignation of Kyari

The Ethnic Youth Leaders Council in a statement by Mallam Kabiru, while countering the childish position of NENYLCW, passed a vote of confidence on the leadership style of the NNPCL GCEO, Mele Kyari, which has helped President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda scored huge wins in the petroleum sector.

They therefore condemned the hatchet job by a jobless group of blackmailers parading as youth leaders under a non existing body called Nigeria Ethnic Nationality Youth Leaders Council Worldwide.

The joint council of Arewa Consultative Youth Movement, Ohanaeze Youth Consultative Movement, Oduduwa Youth Movement, Middle Belt Youth Forum and South South Consultative Youth Movement vowed to meet NENYLCW on the streets if they dare to carry out its empty threat to cripple the country with a protest should Kyari fail to resign within seven days.

According to the council, the faceless group was being sponsored by mischief makers who were bent on discrediting President Tinubu’s petroleum reforms agenda for the benefit of the masses as championed by the erudite, sagacious and tactical captain, Mele Kyari in the last one year of the present administration.

“Ordinary, we the Ethnic Youth Leaders Council made up of Arewa Consultative Youth Movement, Ohanaeze Youth Consultative Movement, Oduduwa Youth Movement, Middle Belt Youth Forum and South South Consultative Youth Movement would not have bothered to respond to the infantile rantings of a faceless and jobless group parading as Nigeria Ethnic Nationality Youth Leaders council Worldwide because they are worth our or attention of Nigerians.

“However, in order not to allow unsuspecting members of the public to be deceived, we want to first of all place it on record that such group does not exist. It is just an assemblage of mischief makers and rumours mongers sponsored by enemies of the country who are envious of the giant strides of the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, which has seen growth and stability of the petroleum sector which is the bedrock of nation’s economy.

“Therefore, we the Ethnic Youth Leaders Council made up of Arewa Consultative Youth Movement, Ohanaeze Youth Consultative Movement, Oduduwa Youth Movement, Middle Belt Youth Forum and South South Consultative Youth Movement warned those cowards and hirelings to steer clear of the Kyari-led NNPCL or face our wrath and that of the Nigerian people.

“We know that their watery press statement is engineered by economic saboteurs who are against the ongoing reforms at the company and his fierce war against the merchants of oil theft. We are calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ignore them. They are enemies of his administration’s quest to reposition the oil and gas sector for the prosperity of the country.

“It is crystal clear that beyond fighting oil theft as never done before, the NNPCL GCEO was prospecting and discovering oil in the northern part of Nigeria to boost the sector’s contribution to GDP and GNP while building peace in the Niger Delta region which was hitherto a hot bed of militancy.
Mele Kyari is committed to creating a sustainable downstream sector. Despite the challenges of fixing, Mele has engineered efforts that have made products available to Nigerians, and we will not allow anyone to sabotage his efforts.

“We want to stress that call for his resignation is the handiwork of those who do not want Nigeria to have a sustainable and competitive downstream sector and those desperate to destabilise the downstream and rubbish the Tinubu regime’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda.

“On the final note, the jobless and faceless group to take precaution and dare not attempt to carry out their threat that ‘should Kyari remain in office after one week, they shall have no other option than to occupy the streets’ – we are ever ready to meet them on the streets. A word is enough for the wise!”
