The FCT Satellite Towns Development Department (STDD) has reiterated the commitment of the FCT Administration to cleaning every nook and cranny of the satellite towns and ridding them of environmental nuisances.

The Public Relations Officer of the department, Meeme Felicia, in a statement, said the STDD Coordinator, Ishaku Tanko Yamawo, is mindful of the infrastructural challenges facing the area councils and that he is committed to addressing them.

He said the development of the satellite towns through the provision of link roads, potable water and electricity is the mandate of STDD.

This, he added, is in line with environmental safety standards to ensure that effort is made to regulate and control the activities of scavengers and others to check the dispersion of refuse at dump sites.

The coordinator said his department would also improve access to potable water in the communities and solicited for the cooperation and understanding of residents. 

Yamawo also urged residents to take personal interest in making personal hygiene part of their daily chores as part of measures to ensure a clean federal capital city.
