The FCT Satellite Towns Development Department (STDD) has reiterated its commitment to fix all bad roads in the satellite towns of the territory.

The Coordinator, STDD, Ishaku Tanko Yamawo, stated this, yesterday, when he went for inspection of Karu site access road construction.

He said the inspection was to make sure the contractors followed the rules and to make sure that all the works were completed at the right time.

Yamawo expressed delight on the progress of work on the road, saying he was happy with the responses  from the public on how the work was been handled.

He stressed that the department would continue to do its best in making sure that all the bad roads were fixed.

He further stated that during his ongoing tour around most of the area councils, he discovered that most of the drainages were blocked by waste thus preventing water from flowing freely.

He therefore warned residents in all the satellite towns to desist from such behaviour, emphasizing that a clean environment could prevent a lot of diseases from affecting the people and also prevent flooding from reoccurring.

The coordinator advised the public to take the warning serious since more rain and flooding were still been forecast in some states including the FCT.

He said FCT Minister Muhammad Musa Bello was passionate about developing the satellite towns and would do his  best to ensure that funds were released for the works.
