Senator representing Anambra North, Stella Oduah has empowered several youths with N300,000 each to start businesses in her constituency, Anambra North through her YOUNG ENTREPRENUER ENCOURAGEMENT SCHEME.

Senator Oduah through her constituency office in Anambra placed media advertisements calling on young people in her constituency to submit viable business plans under the sum of Three Hundred Thousand Naira only (N300,000). 

The applications were screened by a professor at the University of Nigeria Nsukka and the best seven (7) proposals were selected for the award. 

The event took place recently at the Basilica of the Holy Trinity, Onitsha. 

Senator Oduah noted that the scheme was a response to the unemployment crisis facing the country. She said that the best way to reduce the burden is to create more job creators than job seekers. She said that her priority is to create "more entrepreneurs and new wealth which will bring economic prosperity to the people."

Senator Oduah has continued to channel her programs and energy towards empowerment of the youths in her constituency and Anambra at large.
