It is only in a land called Nigeria that people like former President Ibrahim Babangida will ever have the nerves to come out in public and criticize any leader whether of the old or new breed or even have the guts to talk of the ambition to govern a hamlet. IBB has no business in governance, considering the dismal record he left behind after ruling this country for eight years. He should simply stay in his Minna mansion.

Why are we even having this discussion when we are all aware that he has nothing to lose? He can always jump on a plane and leave the country if things go wrong. What he has is contempt for other people’s children. I guess we cannot change his opinion about his feelings for the Nigerian youth or his capacity to lead us astray like he did some years back. One thing we can do is to rally against people like him.

The Almighty has endowed us with a gift, a gift that these people need. We are great mobilizers and if we use our power of mobilization and networking in a positive way, we will get rid of those who have nothing more to offer our country.

Let us all mobilize and insist on the implementation of the Uwais report on electoral reform; we should not sleep until these reforms take place, we should equally hold those who are at the helm of affairs to account. We cannot go into the 2011 election without having changes made to our electoral procedure.

  Whether IBB likes it or not, by the strength of youth votes, we shall overcome his lack of confidence in us.
