STL Trustees has disbursed N6 million to 30 special needs homes across Nigeria as part of activities commemorating its 30th anniversary, reinforcing its commitment to inclusive social impact and community support.

Under the initiative, each beneficiary institution received N200,000, with the company stating that the intervention reflects its deliberate focus on supporting vulnerable communities through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes.

Speaking on the initiative, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of STL Trustees, Mrs. Funmi Ekundayo, said the decision to support special needs homes was inspired by the organisation’s long-standing commitment to inclusion through the STL Special Needs Trust.

According to her, the trust product was specifically designed to help families make long-term financial and care arrangements for children living with special needs.

“Our decision to focus on special needs homes reflects our belief that corporate success should translate into meaningful support for vulnerable communities,” she said.

“Through this initiative, we hope to address immediate needs within these institutions, improve the welfare of beneficiaries, and contribute positively to their care environment.”

Ekundayo added that beyond the financial support, the initiative was also aimed at increasing awareness about the challenges faced by persons living with disabilities while encouraging broader stakeholder participation in inclusive development efforts.

At the cheque presentation ceremony held at the Patrick Speech and Languages Centre in Lagos, the Head of School, Mrs. Funmilayo Enikanselu, expressed appreciation to the company for the intervention.

“We sincerely appreciate STL Trustees for this thoughtful intervention. The fund will be deployed towards supporting the development and overall wellbeing of the children in our care,” she said.

Highlighting the company’s broader CSR footprint over the past three decades, Ekundayo said STL Trustees had implemented several initiatives focused on women empowerment, healthcare, education, environmental sustainability, and community development.

She listed some of the interventions to include skill acquisition programmes executed in partnership with the Lagos State Poverty Alleviation Agency, the beautification of Muri Okunola Park, breast cancer screening campaigns conducted alongside the Care Organisation Public Enlightenment, back-to-school projects with the Street to School Initiative, and environmental sanitation campaigns carried out with the Lagos State Government.

“These initiatives reflect our commitment to creating meaningful social impact beyond our core business and contributing to the wellbeing of the communities we serve,” she said.

Ekundayo also assured stakeholders that the company would continue to expand its CSR engagements through more strategic, measurable, and sustainable interventions focused on inclusion, community development, and long-term value creation.
