The administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has demonstrated a proactive and strategic commitment to mitigating and preventing flooding across Adamawa State. Through extensive investment in drainage infrastructure, embankment protection, flood control interventions, and sanitation improvement in vulnerable areas, the government is addressing immediate challenges while building long-term resilience and environmental safety.

Key Projects Implemented Include:

1. Embankment Protection of Chochi Bridge
• Location: Along Yola Road
• Objective: To prevent erosion and protect vital transport infrastructure.

2. Construction of 2.9 km Stormwater Drainage
• Location: Samunaka Satellite Town and along the FGGC fence, Yola
• Purpose: To manage stormwater and prevent urban flooding.

3. Extension of 2.6 km Concrete Stormwater Drain
• Route: From FGGC to behind the Air Force Comprehensive Secondary School
• Goal: To improve water flow and reduce flood risks in the area.

4. Construction of 700 m Stormwater Drain in Uba Town
• Specifications: 2.5 m × 1 m
• LGA: Hong
• Aim: To improve drainage capacity in the community.

5. Construction of 1,200 m Stormwater Drain in Shuwa Town
• Specifications: 2 m × 1 m
• LGA: Madagali
• Function: To manage runoff and reduce flooding incidents.

6. Construction of 172 m Drain along Jippu Jam Roundabout
• Specifications: 1.5 m × 1 m
• Location: Yola
• Purpose: To prevent waterlogging and improve traffic conditions during rainfall.

7. Culvert Construction and Dredging Along Mararraba–Mubi–Michika–Maiduguri Highway

• Structure: 2.5 m × 1.2 m double-cell culvert

• Scope: Includes dredging of both inlet and outlet channels

• Goal: To enhance water flow and protect the highway infrastructure.

8. Flood Control Interventions in 12 Major Markets
• Locations: Across Ganye, Mubi, Gombi, Song, and other LGAs
• Purpose: To ensure business continuity and protect livelihoods from flood-related disruptions.

9. Drainage Clearance Project in Jimeta
• Objective: To improve sanitation and reduce urban flooding through regular clearing of blocked drains.
