At a joint press conference, Non Academic Staff Union of Universities (NASU), Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) also asked Nigerians to urge the Federal Government to return to the negotiating table.
They regretted that government has abandoned the substance of the negotiation and was spreading misinformation and unilaterally fixing unacceptable increment percentages to “sister unions” with a view to cause disharmony and weaken their (unions’) resolve for a better university system.
ASUU’s National President, Comrade Ukachukwu Awuzie, reading the joint press statement said “the unions reject unilateral awards of 40%, 20% and 20% to ASUU, SSANU and NASU respectively as it is not a product of collective bargaining.
