The unions had threatened to embark on strike last Friday over the issues of staff welfare and working conditions but received assurances at the meeting that their demands would be expeditiously attended to.
The meeting headed by the Minister of Labour and Productivity Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, resolved the “advancement of recently licensed air traffic controllers” is ongoing and that the distribution of the letters conveying approval for advancement should be concluded in a week.
On promotion of NAMA staff, the meeting attended by leaders of the unions agreed that the process should be completed and forwarded to the minister of aviation within two weeks, while the request by NATCA on Air Traffic Controller Salary Structure should be acted upon by the permanent secretary of the ministry of aviation.
Other issues, including trainings were all agreed upon in the meeting.
