Daily Trust reports that the school has been grounded following the non-implementation of full CONTISS for workers which other states in the federation have commenced implemented since 2007.
The unions, speaking yesterday through the Chairmen of SSUCOEN and NASU, Comrade Ibrahim Bonat and Comrade Samuel Danjuma Amar, respectively, said there was no going back on the action until their demands are met.
They said: “The school has to be grounded because the government was so insensitive to our legitimate demands. After several negotiations which culminated into the signing of a MoU in 2010 for the full implementation of the salary structure, government has continued to renege on the agreement.”
“We are ready to return to work if government implements the remaining 20% balance of the former salary scale (CONTISS).”
It will be recalled that SSUCOEN, Gidan-Waya chapter, had been on strike action over the same demand, forcing students to stay away from the college for more than four months.
