The Joint Action Committee (JAC), comprising the Senior Staff Association of Universities (SSANU), Non Academic Staff Union (NASU) and the National Association of Technicians (NAATS), has called on the federal ministries of Labour and Education, to urgently intervene in the ongoing strike by its members over the disparity in the sharing of earned allowances recently approved by the Federal Government.
Speaking in Abuja at the weekend, a member of the JAC and chairman of SSANU, University of Abuja chapter, Mr Hassan Chabiri Shallangwa, said the industrial action had lingered long enough with its attendant consequences on both the students and the tertiary education sector.
