A 15-year-old male student, Ogunbona Damilare Kehinde, has been arraigned before a magistrates court sitting in Ilorin, Kwara State, for criminal intimidation.

According to the Police First information Report (FIR), one Adekeye Olorunfemi who resides in Abuja reported the case in Ilorin.

The FIR reads in part: “He said his colleague’s aged mother, Mrs Awoniyi, of GRA, Ilorin, received threat messages and calls through GSM numbers: 08170018733 and 09167556164, threatening to kill her and her children if an unspecified amount of money was not paid into a Palmpay account number: 9167556164, with the name Chesney Gold.”

The prosecutor, Gbenga Ayeni, said that upon the receipt of the case, the two GSM numbers were tracked that led to the arrest of the suspect.

He said the suspect tried to intimidate Mrs Awoniyi purposely to extract money from her, urging the court to grant his remand plea.

The Magistrate, Dasuki, however, released the suspect on bail and adjourned to December 13, 2022.
