A student of Kano State Polytechnic, Sunusi has been incapacitated by diabetes, an ailment that made him to stop going to school since last year. He could not walk as both legs continue to shrink making them too fragile to take his weight. He is left wallowing at home without any serious medication.

Sunusi, despite being a student, was also a photographer who worked to pay for his school fees and in addition, takes care of his aged parents who are old and also incapacitated by illnesses.

He told Pyramid Trust that life has not been easy for him and his aged parents. Being the only breadwinner, the whole family is now relying on the charity of neighbours and relatives, “Life is neither easy for me nor for my aged parents. I was the only breadwinner of the family, now that I’m incapacitated by this ailment; we have all become orphans relying on charity from people,” he states.

Sunusi’s prayer is to have access to medical care that would make him walk without any stress, to be able to go back to school and also to his photography, “My only prayer is to be able to have access to medical care that will make me regain my health and be back on my feet. With that, I can go back to school, continue with my photography to earn a living.”
