Students construct hazardous kerosene detector

Two students of Infant Jesus Model Secondary School, Oron Akwa Ibom State, Udoabba Dara-Abasi Ekeobong and Ottih Nnambi Patrick, have invented a device that can detect hazardous adulterated and pure kerosene instantly.

The students presented the project at 7th Technology and Innovation Expo 2017 organized by the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology and Daily Trust in Abuja, yesterday. 

Dara-Abasi Ekeobondg, 15 and SSS 2 student said that device would prevent the risk of fire accident caused by the use of adulterated kerosene.

“As we all know adulterated kerosene is responsible for fire hazard that is caused in our society today which leads to the destruction of lives and property. Therefore, this device will reduce the fire accident caused by the use of adulterated kerosene in our homes,” he said.
