Students of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Federal Polytechnic, Bida, have constructed a sugarcane juice extractor machine.
The project supervisor, Engineer Adeoti M.O, said the machine, made up of electric motor, gear box, bell drive, expeller alongside local raw materials, uses electric current to extract the sugarcane juice. He said that the machine was designed to extract the juice without peeling the sugarcane.
