The students of North West University under the umbrella of Young Entrepreneurs Club have commended Media Trust on its coverage of education, saying such coverage would help in moving the education sector forward.
President of the club Ahmad Sani Ahmad who stated this during a courtesy visit to Media Trust Regional Office in Kano said the space given for students to give their input in the education section of the Daily Trust was highly commendable.
Ahmad solicited for more support to the students’ activities by the paper. He said: “The purpose of our visit is to express our appreciation on the way the paper is covering educational issues and also giving us the chance to also comment on such issues. The Daily Trust is an education friendly newspaper and a creditable organization”.
He also appealed to the management of the company to continue supporting students at all levels, saying “we want you to focus more on entrepreneurship courses being offered at tertiary institutions”.
He pointed out that the introduction of entrepreneurship courses at the tertiary institutions by the federal government would greatly reduce unemployment rates among youth.
Ahmad therefore urged students to pay more attention to the entrepreneurship programme, noting that the programme was aimed at brightening their future.
