The students, who came together under the auspices of the All Progressives Congress National Students Vanguard (APCNSV), congratulated Buhari, saying that his disciplined and anti-corruption posture helped in rallying Nigerians around him.
A statement issued by the national coordinator of the group, Comrade A. A. Shatta, urged the president-elect to reduce tuition fees of some public universities where students were made to pay up to N70,000.
The statement urged the president-elect to equip the tertiary institutions with laboratories and libraries, among others.
It said Buhari should eradicate “indiscipline, corruption, misuse and abuse of public offices which has assumed debilitating proportions in the last few years.”
It stated the need to re-launch the war against indiscipline (WAI), which Lagos State changed to KAI (kick against indiscipline), “which has helped in deepening discipline and civic responsibility among Lagosians.”
