Students told to learn skills in schools

Parents and schools should help students to acquire the necessary skills to become self reliant and successful in life, a parent has said.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony of Royal Family Academy, Abuja, Mrs. Helen Kokorawe, said schools should teach various entrepreneurial skills to empower students. She said schools must also impart moral education to students to make them decent leaders in future.

“Skills acquisition can empower children, as well as develop the society,” she said.

Another parent, Mr. Ini Jimmy, called on the graduating students to make use of all the positive training they acquired and strive to be great ambassadors of the school.

On her part, Head Teacher of the school, Felicia Mshelia, said that the school provided quality knowledge and skills to students.

She said the school had empowered the graduating children to impact positively on the society they found themselves in, both academically and morally.
