Speaking during the opening ceremony on Tuesday at Government Girls Science Secondary School, Doma Gombe, the coordinator of Adopted Villages and schools WAAPP in the state, Mr. Francis Osometha, said the aim of WAAPP-NIGERIA is to assist farmers to be productive in farming activities and that the programme is also looking at the students as future leaders who are able to read and write to capture them young.
“The major aims of reaching the students in their school is to actually popularise agriculture as a business and as something that they can take up after they finished their secondary education without necessarily going to look for white collar jobs,” he said.
