Studying abroad broadens the view of students and gives them countless employment and business opportunities, an official of a student recruitment agency has said.

Chief Executive Officer, Books Embassy Limited, Sunny Akhigbe, said during a ‘Study Abroad Open Day,’ in Abuja that the agency works with higher institutions in different countries to get admission slots for applicants and help them get scholarships with no hassle.

He said the event was meant to educate applicants looking for admission into various programmes in higher institutions abroad about minimum requirements.

Mr Akhigbe said the agency kept a tab on all students abroad to ensure that their attention in school did not decline or get lured into doubtful activities.

“We encourage students to build positive emotional connections and interact with students from other countries with a view to developing their cultural sensitivities, skills and future careers and business opportunities,” he said.

Marketing Manager, Hotel and Tourism Management Institute (HTMI), Dubai,  Sruthi Ranjith, who took part in the event, said the institution, which also runs courses in Switzerland,  offers certificate and diploma programmes and prepares  students for management careers in the global hospitality industry through high-quality education, workshops and training.

She said, “We receive a lot of applications from Nigeria and decided to come here to meet the applicants, interact with them and see how we can provide the best opportunity for them. We have scholarships for eligible students.”

She said the objective of the institute was to increase the ease of access to education irrespective of financial background of candidates, adding that students were required to take internship for half of their study period in a hotel and earn allowances.
