The contribution of the financial technology (fintech) market in sub-Saharan Africa will reach $150 billion by next year, rising by $40bn from this year’s figure, an expert has said.

The Project Consultant, Cashless-Africa, Dr. Alex Itkin, said this in a statement yesterday while citing a recent Bloomberg report that revealed that the financial-technology industry’s contribution to Sub-Saharan Africa’s economic output will increase significantly by 2022.

He also said professionals are expected to converge to brainstorm at the 2021 edition of the African Cashless Payment Systems Conference (ACPSC), which will be held in Accra, Ghana on November 28th.

The statement also said it was critical to have productive conversations because Africa presently hosts some of the world’s fastest growing economies and is poised for a huge economic transformation.

Itkin said the event will be declared open by Ghana’s Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and that the conference will facilitate cutting-edge technology demonstrations, knowledge sharing, and high-level networking.

There will also be one-on-one business meetings between decision makers and top-tier solution providers, transforming the region’s financial firmament’s digital future.
