A level III Computer Science student of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University Katsina has been allegedly killed by his sister’s suitor and two others in Malumfashi following a misunderstanding between them.

Daily Trust gathered that the deceased, Abdulmalik Kabir, 21, was attacked by one Hussaini Abdu and two others around Kofar Fada area of the town after he (Kabir) had earlier warned Hussaini to steer clear of his sister, Amira Kabiru.

Sources said Amira and Hussaini were in a relationship which Amira’s family did not approve of on the ground that she is still in secondary school.

However, trouble started when the deceased on phone asked the suitor to steer clear of the girl and allow her finish school.

Confirming the incident, Katsina State police spokesman, DSP Gambo Isah, said one Kabiru Yaro reported that on the 19th (November) at about 11pm, his son Abdulmalik Kabir, 21, had a misunderstanding with one Hussaini Abdu Danshagamu. 

He said Hussaini connived with two others to beat Kabir up. He was later taken to the Malumfashi General Hospital where he died on Monday at 11am.

He said one of the suspects, Abdulaziz Karim, 20, has been arrested while a manhunt has been launched for the two others.
