Suleja Shooters and Soof Handball Club strengthened their grip at the top of the men’s and women’s categories respectively on Day 4 of the 2025 National Division One League, ongoing in Umuahia, Abia State.

In the men’s division, Suleja Shooters battled past Cannan Tigers 22–17 in a hard-fought Group A encounter. The Shooters edged the first half 10–8 before pulling clear in the second period to seal their third straight win. With nine maximum points from three matches and no defeats, they remain firmly in control of the group.

Elsewhere in the men’s category, Vipers of Jos continued their fine form with a 28–23 victory over Edo Dynamos. The Jos side dominated the first half 16–9 and booked their place in the next round as Group B runners-up with six points—three behind leaders U & H Abia, who have a perfect nine points.

Kwara edged Bayelsa United 20–18 in a tense, low-scoring affair, while the Airforce overpowered Kutus Academy 34–17 in one-sided fashion.

In the women’s division, Girl Child Academy pulled off one of the day’s biggest results, edging Kwara 25–23 in a pulsating Group A clash. Leading 10–9 at the break, Girl Child held off a late surge from Kwara to secure the win. Both teams now sit on six points, though Kwara remain second due to a superior goal difference of 106 compared to Girl Child’s 68.

Soof Handball Club, meanwhile, maintained their flawless run in the women’s category with a dominant 31–10 win over Airforce Babes. The Group A leaders stamped their authority early, racing to a 17–4 halftime lead before cruising to victory. The result leaves them with nine points from three matches and in a commanding position to advance.
