The Sultan of Sokoto and President General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has sent a message of encouragement to the President of the Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN), Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, commiserating with him and the entire Muslim community over the loss of Professor AbdulGaniyu Raji.
Professor Raji, who passed away at the weekend, was a distinguished member and Chairman of the MUSWEN Secretariat Advisory Committee, as well as a renowned university scholar.
The Sultan, who is the Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, also commiserated with the management of the premier university, where the deceased was a notable lecturer.
His condolence message was contained in a statement by his media team dated Sunday, December 21, 2025.
He described Professor Raji as a devout Muslim who served the Ummah with diligence and whose immense contributions will be deeply missed.
He prayed that Allah accepts the soul of his servant, forgives his shortcomings, and admits him into Al-Jannah Firdaus.
