The Sultan Foundation for Peace and Development has donated more than 3,000 pieces of furniture worth N1.3bn to schools in Kebbi State.
The furniture consisted of chairs and tables procured under the foundation, at the rate of N1.3bn for distribution to schools in Kebbi State.
The items were formally handed over to Governor Nasir Idris at the Bulasa Warehouse, near Birnin Kebbi, by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, accompanied by the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Sama’ila Muhammadu Mera, on Monday.
The Emir of Argungu, who spoke on behalf of the Sultan, said the gesture was in pursuance of the objective of his foundation to enhance the quality of education.
Receiving the furniture, Governor Idris expressed immense happiness over the kind gesture of the Sultan.
