The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has said Super Falcons’ success should serve as motivation for other national teams, especially the Super Eagles, as they resume their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in the coming weeks.

In a communiqué issued after a meeting held on Tuesday, July 29, at the NFF Secretariat in Abuja, the committee praised the President’s conferment of national honours, cash gifts, and housing rewards to the players and officials.

The NFF described the gesture as a morale booster that would inspire greater participation of girls in football and reinvigorate women’s football in Nigeria.

The NFF urged thorough preparation for crucial matches against Rwanda and South Africa, tasking its Secretariat with ensuring smooth logistics.

On the men’s domestic front, the NFF expressed satisfaction with the Super Eagles B team’s preparation for the African Nations Championship (CHAN), which kicks off August 2 in East Africa.

The team, currently in Zanzibar, is set to face Senegal and Sudan in their group fixtures.

The committee also reviewed the Flying Eagles’ recent second-place finish at the WAFU B U20 Championship in Ghana, calling on the coaching crew to fine-tune preparations ahead of the FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile.

In addition, the NFF congratulated Moses Aduku and Manu Garba on their respective appointments as head coaches of the Falconets and Golden Eaglets, urging them to build formidable teams for upcoming World Cup qualifiers and regional tournaments.
