The Conference of All Progressive Congress Support Groups has condemned the decision by the APC screening committee to disqualify businessman turned politician, Tein Jack-Rich from the Rivers West Senatorial race ahead of the party primaries and 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued on Saturday after an emergency review and signed by Dr Bilal Galadima, National Coordinator and James Ogenyi, General Secretary, the Conference described the disqualification as unjust, divisive, and a threat to party unity.

“How can our party allow only one man who is not a member of our party to make decisions or dictate the direction of our party?” the group queried.

The Conference alleged that in Rivers State, only loyalists of FCT minister, Nyesom Wike were cleared to contest for every position, while long-standing members who have supported the APC for years were sidelined.

“How can our party disqualify Jack-Rich, a former Presidential aspirant who has been loyal and supported our party for the last thirteen years, only for our party to choose Felix Obua, a Wike loyalist who only joined the party three months ago?.

“Jack-Rich is a known party faithful and former APC Presidential aspirant with over a decade of support for the party’s ideals and candidates,” the statement said.

The Conference called on all APC stakeholders, leaders, and the National Working Committee to rise against what it described as “every injustice done to a loyal party faithful.”

It warned that failure to address the matter could weaken the party’s structure and cause it to “capsize ahead of the 2027 election.”

The group urged the party leadership to uphold internal democracy, reward loyalty, and ensure a level playing field for all aspirants across Rivers State and the nation.
