The Surveyor Council of Nigeria (SURCON) has inducted 371 new Surveyors into the council.
Speaking during the induction ceremony, the Surveyor- General of the Federation, Surv. E.B Awudu, reminded the inductees of the importance of the profession they have chosen to national development and urged them to hold their heads high as they go into the society to practice and always be good ambassador.
A statement from OSGOF’s AD, PRESS/Head PPRU, Okeke G.A.O (Mrs), said the Surveyor General further said that surveying profession is good and desirous of exactude “and it is ubiquitous such that the country or anywhere you work relies so much on you, because you are the only professional on the earth surface that tells the others where and when a thing is happened”.
Surv. Awudu noted that the office is fast expanding and as a result, the process of recruitment into some administrative position is underway and urged those of the newly inducted Surveyors who have the requisite qualification to apply through Civil Service Commission.
Earlier on, the Registrar of the Surveyor Council of Nigeria (SURCON), Surv Kabir Mansur M., who was full of gratitude, thanked the SGOF for his immense support at any point in time and encouragement to his office and the entire surveying profession.
Surv. Kabir Mansur, who handed over to the three hundred and seventy One (371) newly inductees their certificates one after the other, urged them to represent the profession well anywhere they find themselves and protect the certificates with enviable might.
