Dr Wadinga told Kanem Trust that his environmental friendly project which started about four years ago,  will provide seedlings to be distributed free to individuals, organisations, as well as the state government and local governments with enormous environmental challenges. “It will replace the enormous trees that are being cut down all over the state, serve as wind breakers during sandstorms, provide adequate oxygen and reduce the level of dehydration as a result of the hot climate. “I am engaged in this venture because I know the few trees around today were planted by some people.

“This project has cultivated over one million seedlings, out of which 7,000 have survived; I employed someone who was in need of a job to water the seedlings. A sewing machine was also bought and a tailor was employed to cut and sew sacks, which are used at the nursery in addition to disposed sachet water bags acquired with the help of children who get paid one naira for each bag,” he said.
