All ousted: Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Marshal Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas; Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Yusufu Buratai and Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin.

A former Director-General of the Department of State Service (DSS), Mike Ejiofor, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to surprise Nigerians in 2021 by changing all the service chiefs following the increase in security challenges ravaging the country.

Ejiofor, in an interview with Channels Television, noted that there would be no progress in the fight against insecurity such as terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other criminalities if the service chiefs, tactics, equipment and approaches are not changed.

The former DSS boss said, “I expect that Mr President should take Nigerians by surprise; change the service chiefs. Nigerians and their attitude to security agencies should change too.

“I think by the change of tactics, equipment, attitude, service chiefs, and approaches, we’d make progress, I believe so very strongly.”

Daily Trust reports that there had been several calls from various quarters, including the National Assembly, urging the president to change the service chiefs.
