About 100 secondary and 300 tertiary control points have been established, the Survey Department in Ogun State Bureau of Lands and Survey, Head of Survey, Surveyor Olatunde Onososen has disclosed.
Onososen who made this disclosure at a media chat in Abeokuta, asserted that the Bureau has witnessed tremendous changes and development since the advent of the Senator Ibikunle Amosun-led administration.
He said since the control points are essential to daily surveying activity in the state, 100 secondary and 300 tertiary control points have been established to make survey job easier and faster.
The Head of Survey added that the state government has procured survey equipment that “are useful, made survey the job easy, fast and make data collected more accurate.
“The three Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) installed in Abeokuta, Ijebu-Ode and Agbara areas of the state were most efficient in data collection and delivery in Nigeria as far as survey is concerned.”
He stated that the Differential Geographic Positioning System (DGPS) used by the department capture data real time and that information captured is accurate and precise in XYZ values making the job easy.
