Giving the trainees tips on how to set up construction companies in a paper he presented at the workshop entitled “Managing a successful construction firm in the Nigerian business environment”, the Managing Director of New Complex Nig Ltd, Chudi Ikedionwu said patience is the most important thing in setting up any business.
“You have to have patience before you can survive and develop,” Ikedionwu said, adding that before setting up the company, there is the need to have the vision and mission statement spelt out.
He said after registration, the quality of staff and work done will determine the sustenance of the company.
He said, “How you motivate your staff and how you are able to satisfy your clients are key to you survival.”
He advised them to learn from their superiors so that they can improve their performances and learn from the mistakes of those that are not performing well so that they avoid making such mistakes.
Advising the trainees to take their training with seriousness, the president of the institute, Alhaji Murtala Aliyu said as professionals, there is need for them to brace up to face the modern challenge.
“You need to acquire certain skills to remain afloat because we may reach a time when houses will be assembled as cars are being assembled,” he projected.
