Surveyors to install first female president

All is now set for the investiture of Mrs Mercy Iortyer as the first female president of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS).
Mrs Iortyer will wear the NIQS presidential insignia on Nov. 21, 2015 in Lagos at the grand finale of the institute’s 26th Biennial Conference and General Meeting. She will take the baton from the incumbent President Murtala Aliyu. Aliyu is former Minister of State for Power.
The biennial conference is largest meeting of quantity surveyors in Nigeria.
The week-long conference discusses Quantity Survey and the construction industry.
Organizers said this year, resource persons and participants from within and outside Nigeria will come discuss the theme: Politics, Policies and National Development – The Role of Professionals.
Apart from members of the African Association of Quantity Surveyors (AAQS), participants will be drawn from top government offices, political parties, real estate, banking, insurance and manufacturing industries.
